Aloft Birmingham Eastside

We stayed at Aloft February 2024. ROOM: we had the Urban larger guest room with 2 double beds as there was 2 adults and a child. Very spacious, clean room. Well equipped the with an iron, ironing board, hairdryer, kettle, Nespresso machine, fridge and safe. Definite highlight was the towelling dressing gown and slippers. Plenty of towels. Shower was great and cosmetics were standard. Only qualm is we could have done with hand soap. Beds were super comfortable and large. Black out blinds were very effective. TV was okay, but couldn’t get chromecast to work. BREAKFAST: worst part of the stay was the breakfast which was not great. The sausages were very unpalatable. No bread rolls, not much fruit, poor selection of pastries. However staff kept it well stocked and were pleasant. HOTEL: good location, fairly close to moor street (20 min walk). Decor was modern and stylish. Staff helpful, luggage store was very handy. There was a small gym and plenty of places to sit in the lobby. OVERALL: impressed with stay. Good value for money. Highlights were the dressing gowns, shower and comfy bed. Drawbacks was the breakfast- wouldn’t pay for this unless it was included

Wasn’t able to check in early which is unfortunate but won’t hold that against the hotel as it usually starts 3pm everywhere. When I eventually did check in, got given a room only to find out it was taken already. Went down to reception and turns out the staff member put a completely different number though it was by accident. Rooms were very nice and stylish, nice walk in shower. The bed was quite comfortable as well. Would come back here if I was in Birmingham.

I love this place. I've been here a few tines for conferences and it's one of my favourite conference centres in the UK. I just wish the food was a little hotter. I didnt require any of the equipment but this place is also incredibly accessible for guests that require additional support. They deserve recognition for their facilities.
